I have had the great fortune to work at some of the best institutions, colleges, publishers and creative corporations with some of the world’s greatest marketers, designers, editors, writers, photographers, illustrators, filmmakers, fine artists, developers and information technology talent in the United States and Europe.

I work on publishing projects, website and interactive design, logo and brand design, marketing design, video and motion graphic direction, magazine design and redesign, packaging and product design, exhibition design, signage and data visualization. My experience has allowed me to become an expert in each stage of the creative process: strategy, editorial, design, production, marketing, and analysis. 

At the School of Visual Arts in New York City, I was charged with an array of responsibilities as Director of Design and Digital Media of Visual Arts Press Ltd., the design studio at SVA. VAPress is responsible for a majority of the web entities at the college, as well as editorial, design and production of all printed publications, marketing and recruitment creative strategies and implementation in multiple mediums. I was also responsible for an in-house rebranding of the college in 2013.

I am proud to have contributed to the effort of polishing and improving School of Visual Arts image and positioning it as one of the top educational institutions in the United States and still teach at SVA from term to term. I am frequently commissioned to work on interactive concepts, app concepts, branding projects and some terrific photography and art books.

I am currently an Advisor/Consultant for Mindstate Lab Project and operating MJWalsh CD+D LLC, my design business.

An online & print project that I am founding creative director, designer of, titled:  DEAR DAVE, was the winner of the 2108 Photography Magazine of the Year from The Lucie Awards on October 28th, 2018 at Carnegie Hall and also won a 2019 Webby Honoree award. DEAR DAVE is a side project that started in 2007 with founder Stephen Frailey, Editor-in-Chief.
