Underground Images Poster Exhibition
Underground Images Poster Exhibition
Since 2013, “Underground Images”—a selection of more than 60 posters from SVA NYC’s long-running advertising campaign—has been exhibited at museums, conferences, festivals and universities throughout Asia and Europe. In the spring of 2014, it was mounted in Montenegro (left) and Serbia (right), and has gone on to dozens of other international cities.
“The Design of Dissent” (2005)
An exhibition of over 100 political posters and other graphic art from around the world, curated by SVA Acting Chairman Milton Glaser and faculty member Mirko Ilić.
“Where Is My Vote?” (2010)
An exhibition of 150 political posters by graphic artists from all over the world, created in support of the protests that followed Iran’s 2009 presidential election.

As part of the 2013 NYCxDesign fair, MFA Products of Design students presented “ALSO!,” a series of interactions exploring how we experience new design, at the WantedDesign exhibition—just one example of how SVA's programs “pop up” in various contexts, engaging the design community and general public.

MFA Design showcases the work of its graduating students as both an exhibition at one of SVA’s galleries and as a multimedia presentation at the SVA Theatre. “Venture,” a collection of thesis projects by the program’s class of 2014, is pictured here.
Earth Day NBC's "Today Show"
For Earth Day 2008, our 3D Design students were commissioned by NBC’s Today Show to create a sculpture made out of discarded cell phones. The resulting work, shown here, was temporarily installed at Rockefeller Center.

"We Tell Stories" exhibition
“We Tell Stories” (2014) celebrated 30 years of MFA Illustration as Visual Essay at SVA. The exhibition included a specially designed children’s reading room, with more than 200 titles illustrated or written by the program’s alumni.
